Media Team

What is this about?

In 2019, Uru Mānuka created a Media Team to capture footage of events, classroom practice, and all of the awesome things that happen in and across our schools! This team is an extension group that works specifically with Miss Morgan, the Cluster Education Programme Leader, to develop journalism skills, build charisma, and increase students technical abilities.

Each school in the Cluster (Hornby Primary, South Hornby Primary, Gilberthorpe School, Yaldhurst Model School, Hornby High School, Wigram School and St Bernadette’s School) will have two representatives in the Media Team. They will work collaboratively to create video masterpieces for the Cluster and their School. Some of these will be used as advertising and promotional videos for the Trust and our Cluster.

Congratulations to the Media Team of 2019

Term Two - Entering a competition!

Teacher notes.

This term we are going to prepare for entering the Made Awards and the Digi Awards under the commercial category. What does this mean? Do some research… What is a commercial? How do you want to sell the topic innovative Ōtautahi? What does it mean? What is Christchurch like - can we compare it to anything? Do we want to make a tourist video?

Blog about 5 ideas you could film and how you want to sell our city.
